MK4 Golf

MK4 Golf

After many years of daily driving my mx5 all year round I finally decided to get something else to enjoy along side the five. I've always had a soft spot for the MK4 golfs, while this particular one is not the sought after GTI, its a lovely spec 1.6.

It has all the creature comforts the MX5 is sadly missing and its just a nice, reliable daily driver. While its mechanically in great shape, it has a couple of little gremlins that previous owners have turned a blind eye to. Things such as the central locking acting a bit funny because of the open/closed sensors in the doors being faulty. But it has been fun diagnosing and sorting these little issues. All part of the fun of owning an older car :)

For those keen eyed VW enthusiasts, yes those are MK1 TT Competition wheels, also known as Fat Fives produced by Ronal. I think they suit the Golf really well, this set however is in desperate need of a refurb and the OEM centre caps are sadly missing.

I haven't got much planned for it yet but if I do anything interesting along the way of owning it, I will update this blog :)
